As a result of the wear and tear on the driving disk, the position of the diaphragm spring alters, which means that the pressure from the diaphragm spring on the ramp-shaped setting rings drops. The locking bolt has the effect that the setting rings turn as a result of the tension of the springs. In this way, the clearance between the diaphragm spring and the pressure plate is compensated.
